Cherry on Top

We all carry around so much pain in our hearts. Love and pain and beauty. They all seem to go together like one little tidy confusing package. It's a messy business, life. It's hard to figure--full of surprises. Some good. Some bad. -Henry Bromel

3.04.2005
I had dinner with friends last night. Hay. What a welcome relief from the stress at work. I was supposed to meet Lisa right after work, but my mom had to stay a bit in her office so I had to wait for her. And then, the driver thought I was going home with my mom so he missed all the turns going to Eastwood. Hassle. I ended up arriving in Eastwood more than an hour after our meeting time. Sorry, Lees.

Anyways, When I was on my way to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, I saw this couple. The guy's a friend, the girl, an acquaintance. My eyes beamed when I saw them because they were people from college, and I miss college so bad that anything or anyone that reminded me of those days made me beam! So while I was descending from the escalator, getting ready to say hi or to be said hi to, I noticed that no pleasantries were about to happen. I'm sure they saw me through their peripheral vision, but for some weird reason, they didn't budge. Argh. I felt bad. To make things worse, Lisa and I saw them again when we were walking to Jack's Loft. They both said hi to Lisa. They even talked to her. I tried to join in, but the girl's eyes were focused only on Lisa, as if I wasn't beside her. The guy was just staring on the floor the whole time Lisa's and the girl's conversation was going on! So for those few minutes, I felt like I was a ghost-- they knew I was there, but they didn't talk to me, or even spared a glance at my direction. Argh! I hated the feeling!

Buti na lang, I had fun over dinner. A lot of people were able to make it (Lisa, Ding, Tammy, Jem, Alessa, Mark, Ria, Bobs, Kaia, Mike, Trey and Waps). We spent the night reminiscing and updating ourselves with the things that are keeping us busy lately. All the catching up continued aterwards when Ding, Kaia, Bobs, Ria, Trey, Mike, Waps and I had coffee. After a while though, people were getting sleepy (hay. tatanda na talaga!) so Mike and I went to Waps' and continued talking there. Haaay. I swear, being with those two boys makes me feel so safe. Waps and Mike: 3-oh-4-oh-5! WAT Club! Hahaha! ;P

Fun, fun night (minus the incident earlier)! :D
