Feb 3 After going to the doctor yesterday and having him take a look at my cyst, my mom decided to have it operated on today. I was scheduled to go under the knife (naks! haha!) at 1 p.m. So, at exactly 1, Cam and I were in the hospital only to find out that the doctor will be late. We waited for more than an hour until finally I was asked to go to the operating room. There, I was asked to change in a hospital gown and slippers and then I was led to one of the beds. After a while, the doctor came in, and then started with the procedure.
It was torture. They used local anaesthesia, meaning I was wide awake the whole time so I felt the pressure of the knife on my skin. I also felt pain everytime the anaesthesia lost its effect. When that happens, some more had to be injected on the cyst. Hay. HELL!
The operation lasted for about 30 minutes but it felt like forever. Afterwards, I changed my clothes and met up with Cam and Patty outside the OR. I was sooo dizzy, everything around me was starting to turn white! Buti na lang it went away after a while. After paying the bills, the three of us went to the office. There, Daddy Victor saw us, made him sit by his table and started talking to us about entrepeneurship... Yes, while the anaesthesia was starting to fade away and the wound was starting to get painful. After what felt like hours, my wound was starting to kill me so Tita Avic had Mommy's nurse buy me some pain killers. I was close to tears with pain when the medicine started to work. Argh! I hate pain. One thing I realized after the operation was that I think I have a higher tolerance for emotional pain than the physical type... But that's for an entirely different entry. Hehe!
Feb 4 After spending more than half of the day thinking about how I was going to take a bath, I was finally able to, thanks to Ging, our helper! Hehe! She shampooed my hair without wetting my whole body by having me kneel by my parents' tub so that only my head got wet. Afterwards, I mixed about half a bottle of alcohol with a small basin of lukewarm water for my sponge bath. It wasn't as good as actually taking a real bath, but it was better than not taking a bath at all!
After a couple of hours, Mitzi, Claire and Nina came to pick me up before going to Mandel's party. Once we got there, we settled in one of the tables. They got to drink, but I wasn't able to because Claire's dad, who's a doctor, said people who just got operated on should not drink because it could cause bleeding and pain. Hassle! But I had fun nonetheless because I got to see and talk with people whom I haven't seen in ages. We all had to leave early though because Mitz, Nina and Nico had classes the next day. It was a fun, fun party! :)
